Thank you to everyone who came out during our regular business hours this season.
Guesthouse Kushi Loco will cease regular business hours in mid-October. We are only accepting reservations for exclusive use until the end of the year.
The facility is scheduled to be open from February 1st to March 10th, 2026.
Reservations will begin in early January 2026.

About us
hostel's story
A lodging where you can feel the town's history and enjoy Akan
Akan Town was once home to the Yubetsu Coal Mine, and at its peak, over 15,000 people lived in Yubetsu. The Yubetsu Railway carried coal to the port, playing an important role as a form of transportation that supported the lives of local residents. Even now, more than 50 years after the mine closed, vestiges of the coal mining town can be found all over Akan. The guesthouse is a former private lodging facility that was built 60 years ago. In May 2024, it was reborn as a guesthouse where you can enjoy Akan while still feeling the traces of its past as a private lodging facility in a coal mining town.
A base for activities and sightseeing at the entrance to two national parks
Akan Town is 15km from Tancho Kushiro Airport and 3.5km from Akan IC, and is located at the entrance to two national parks, Kushiro Marsh National Park and Akan Mashu National Park. This lodging is a base for activities such as mountain climbing, fishing, hiking, and long trails.
A friendly inn for walkers, runners and cyclists
The Kushiro-Akan Bicycle Path (Marshland Dream Road) is located right next to the inn, where you can encounter marshland wildflowers and wildlife. During your stay, you can refresh your mind and body by going for a run or cycling. The owner, a cycle guide, will also support you on your bicycle trip.

Depending on the season, Sakurada rooms may be offered as Western-style twin rooms or women-only dormitories.
*Prices may vary depending on the day before a holiday, peak season, etc.
*From November to March, a winter heating fee of 300 yen per person will be charged.
* Guesthouse Kushi Loco does not accept preschool children.
*People under the age of 19 cannot use the dormitories.
*Japanese-style and Western-style rooms are available for elementary school students and above. Elementary school students can sleep in the same bed as their parents.
*If you wish to share a bed with another child, an additional fee of 2,200 yen per person will be charged.
